Social media database
GLOSSARY
Social media databases aggregate social data crawled from blogs, forums, messageboards, news and news comments, microblogs (twitter) or facebook pages. The diverse nature of social media data makes its online collection difficult, as social media crawlers need to adapt specifically to social web sites. Also, the huge volume of social media data requires such social media databases to apply sophisticated database technologies to be able to handle masses of social data in near real time.
